Brandon’s Ph.D. dissertation focused on developing fluorescent imaging methods and system to determine photosafety and improve photodynamic therapy (PDT) efficacy. He has made important advances in the field of cancer photomedicine by quantitatively analyzing photochemical reactions, photosensitizer delivery in tissues, and PDT-induced biological responses in tumors. Brandon’s work in the Huang lab has led to 6 peer-reviewed publications (4 more under revision or preparation) and 5 conference presentations to date. Brandon has received the Clark Doctoral Fellowship, Fischell Fellowship, and is an NSF/FDA Scholar in Residence. He has also won the first place at the Northrop Grumman Image Recognition Student Challenge.
