Dr Carla Arnau del Valle is a postdoctoral associate in the research group of Prof Huang Chiao (Joe) Huang working on developing novel nanoconstructs for the selective photodynamic therapy of cancer. We are thrilled to announce that she has recently been awarded the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) European Postdoctoral Fellowship to start her own project in September 2024 at the Valencia Polytechnic University (Spain). Huge congratulations!
Dr. Carla Arnau del Valle undertook her PhD in the School of Chemistry at the University of East Anglia (United Kingdom) graduating in December 2022. She holds a degree and a master's in Chemistry both from the University Jaume I (Spain). Her PhD focused on the development and application of novel near-infrared excitable (nano)materials for the detection and quantification of intracellular analytes, with potential for applications in cancer diagnosis and theranostics. She was selected as one of the young researchers to participate in the prestigious 71st Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, watching movies, playing tennis and travelling.
